2nd inov-8 winter trail run - Sunday June 24

We said this winter we would mix up the runs a little - so #2 is daytime, plus a little drive - for Aucklanders.   Not so far for those in the BOP of course.

Meeting Place:  Karangahake Gorge Car Park.
The car park is roughly in the middle of the Karangahake Gorge, on the right hand side (opposite a café)  as you drive towards Tauranga.  It's about 110km from Manukau.
Just go to our facebook page http://www.facebook.com/inov8nz   if you want see if anyone is interested in carpooling.

Time & Date : 10 am, Sunday  24 June

Length of run: (sorry I forgot this vital info last time!)   We will split into groups according to pace, and run around 90 minutes to 2 hours.

There are some great walks close to the carpark if you want to bring non-runners along.

About the run: This is right at the northern end of the Kaimai- Mamaku Forest Park.  What you can see from the road as you drive through the gorge is only a tiny part of the great running in the area. The High Beam team spend a lot of time over the summer running in this area, and never get bored with the variety. There are hardpacked tracks, slushy tracks and old gold mining access trails. Everything you need to test out the grip on your inov-8's.

And if you decide to make a weekend of it, then take your mountainbike and ride some of the Hauraki Rail Trail:  http://www.nzcycletrail.com/hauraki-rail-trail
We have ridden the Waikino to Paeroa section, and it's a very pleasant ride - suitable for all ages.

Please feel free to forward on this information to others who may be interested.
