Quick drying mesh uppers give high breathability. Met-Cradle™ webbing secures 1st & 5th met in natural position firmly holding forefoot in place while maintaining natural met alignment.
Standard 6mm or 3mm interchangeable footbed with rebound inserts for fine tuning and comfort.
Molded cupped MidShoc™ midsole provides the best balance between comfort and underfoot sensitivity.
Molded stiffener with META-FLEX™ grooves allows metatarsals to take their natural alignment when contouring.
Our specially designed outsoles use both our endurance compound and our unique inov-8™ sticky rubber compound for extra performance and grip on race day.
For technical footwear a good fit is essential to enhance your performance while running. This is achieved through combining the key elements such as the last and the lacing system. We have developed several lasts modelled around the actual shape of a foot, ensuring a secure heel hold while allowing the forefoot to assume a natural unrestricted position throughout the complete running cycle.
inov-8 have a wide and diverse range of shoes, all with their own purpose. How suitable they are for that purpose will depend on a carefully selected range of variables – shoe width and shape being one of them (or technically speaking – shoe “lasts”.
There are 4 different shoe lasts within the inov-8 range. These are:
Comfort last – Suitable for wide feet and particularly benefitcial for long distance where you want your feet to be able to wriggle around a little. The comfort last will maximise the foots ability to splay out, consequently maximimising feel for the ground and therefore stability.

Performance last – The narrowest inov-8 last. Suitable for shorter distance racing where you want your feet to fita s snug as possible, with little lateral movement. Not a great fit for someone with typically wide New Zealand feet.

Anatomic – The fit that best resembles the shape of the human foot. Snug around the heel and over the top of the foot, with a reasonably wide forefoot to allow for foot splaying.

Womens – Available in comfort or performance fit, the womens last has a narrower heel which is generally better suited to the female anatomy.

All our shoes give the option for high front lacing which is designed to ensure a good heel hold. This in conjunction with our low heel cut gives the ankle joint a larger range of motion and less pressure on the achilles heel.
Lacing attached to nylon webbing, cradles and secures the upper behind the metatarsal heads.
Lacing attached to polymer upper supports, cradles the foot more evenly.
Lacing attached to synthetic upper cradles and distributes pressure across the metatarsals.
All our GTX shoes and gaiters use GORE-TEX® with XCR® Product Technology.
All styles feature a meta-flex groove which is anatomically aligned in front of the metatarsal heads to provide a natural fore foot flex.
5-finger meta-shank aligns with each individual metatarsal for greater flexibility when contouring while retaining underfoot impact protection.
Provides extra torsional support and extra underfoot protection..
Curved in two planes aligning with the natural curvature of the heel. This provides a more natural heel strike to aid descending and contouring.
Increases the structural stability of the arch area and the propulsive efficiency.
On some styles we provide posting on the medial and lateral side of the midsole keeping the shoe neutral but adding support.
Midsole system that measures the amount of underfoot protection from 1 to 4 arrow and allows you to select according to the style and distance.
